Configure to your liking

For water filtration, you can select a sand filter only or a combined system with a sand filter and UV-C lamp. Optionally, connect a 3kW electric heater with a standard plug for temperature control. All components fit in an additional wooden box and easily connect to the hot tub.

Select sand filter when you plan to keep the water in your tub for any longer than 1-2 days. It is necessary to filter out the debris and impurities and to move the water in the tub to aid the efficiency of water treatment chemicals.

Opt for a UV-C lamp to augment the effectiveness of water disinfectants and reduce the need of chemicals. As an added benefit, choosing this option will help mitigate the chlorine smell in the water.

Add the convenience of an electric heater for easy temperature maintenance with just a push of a button. This option simplifies hot tub operation in subzero temperatures, eliminating the need to light a fire solely to prevent system freezing.

Sand filter filled with 100% recyclable PET fibre balls

The water filter with fiber balls efficiently removes impurities and debris from the water, stirring it daily and preventing the water from getting stale in the tub. The system requires only minimal and low-cost maintenance.

Fibre balls enhance the efficiency of the sand filter pump by lowering the pressure, which allows for a higher flow rate and for the product to last longer.

Filter balls are made from 100% recyclable and non-toxic PET material. They are durable and reusable and can be cleaned in a washing machine or by hand.

You’ll only need to clean the fibre balls once a month and replace them every two years.

UV lamp – a safe and environmentally friendly water disinfection

A dutch UV-C technology present in the water filtration system protects users from harmful viruses and bacteria by sterilising or even killing pathogens.

You’ll be able to reduce the amount of chemicals needed by 50-80%.

This technology is compatible with other water treatment products to help keep the water clean for up to a few months.

The UV lamp works efficiently for up to 9,000 hours, which is nearly five years when filtering the water as recommended.

FAQ on hot tub water filtration

3 keys to ensuring pristine water hygiene

Water filter

Use water filter to filter out impurities and small debris from the water. Gardenvity hot tubs benefit from a sand filter with fibre balls, a highly efficient and environmentally friendly solution to keep water fresh and clean in your hot tub.

Run the filter 4-5 hours daily to achieve the necessary effect.

pH control and disinfection

To keep the water in the hot tub for more than 1-2 days, along with the filter, you must add water sanitisers to keep microorganisms at bay.

UV light helps to reduce the amount of needed chemicals.

Without proper pH level control, though, all your efforts will be futile. Daily water pH supervision and adjustment are crucial.

Replacing water often

If you want to enjoy a completely chemical-free bathing experience in your wood-fired hot tub, you should replace the water every 1-2 uses within 1-2 days, if you don’t use a filter and water treatment chemicals.

A fair option for weekend hot tub users, with the added benefit of utilizing the drained water for watering your garden plants.

How does the UV light work for water disinfection?

UV light sterilises pathogens

Germicidal UV systems irradiate running water with the UV light in the treatment chamber. The system disinfects the water within a few seconds.

UV light sterilises pathogens rendering them unable to multiply and causing hygiene and health risks.

Designed to work in hot water

The compact UV-C module from Blue Lagoon (made in the Netherlands) is installed at the sand/fibre ball filter and uses only 21 W of energy.  The system is specially designed for hot water (±40°C) environment.

When plugged in, the UV-C system works automatically, requiring no manual action from the user.

Reduces, but does not replace chemicals

UV light has no effect on the pH or chemical properties of the water in the hot tub.

Although the UV lamp does reduce algae and bacterial populations, it must be used to augment traditional water sanitising measures (chlorine, bromine or oxygen-based water treatment systems) and cannot be used alone.
