Flat Bottom Hot Tubs — The Low-Profile Wood-Fired Tub for Small Families

Flat-floored wood-fired hot tub built for 3–4 people. Sit naturally, heat up faster, and fit it almost anywhere.

What Makes It Different

While most wood-fired tubs use a contoured base built for sitting upright, the Flat Bottom range does away with that shaping entirely — here's why that matters

Outdoor hot tub with a wood-look side table and a metal chimney stack, shown with two people sitting inside. Two inset diagrams at the top show a comparison between a flat layout and a traditional layout, labeled FLAT and TRADITIONAL.

Key features

The Flat Bottom range trades the built-in seating step for a completely flat floor — one simple change with a big effect.

Flat Floor, Natural Seating

No moulded seating ledge — stretch your legs out and sit low and level, closer to how you'd sit in a bath than perch on a bench.

Less Water, Faster Heat

A lower tub holds around 350 fewer litres than our standard-height models, so the wood-fired stove brings it up to temperature sooner.

Fits Through Tight Spaces

At 72 cm tall, it passes through narrow side gates and passageways that a standard-height tub often can't — no fence removal, no crane.

Mini LEDs, Set the Evening Mood

Soft LEDs cycle through 7 colours, glowing just enough to light the water beautifully after dark — see them in action

A Wood-Fired Hot Tub Sized for Small Families

Some tubs are made for two, like the ofuro, others for larger groups of 4–6. The Flat Bottom range sits comfortably in between — sized around small families who use their tub often

A comparison table for event seating options, comparing 'Ofuro', 'Flat Bottom', and 'Round Classic' in columns. The table lists capacity, height, base type, and suitability for couples, small families, or groups entertaining.

The Right Size for 3–4

Designed to seat two adults with one or two children, this size reflects the specific needs of a small family.

More Sociable Than an Ofuro

Compared to an ofuro, which seats only two, the Flat Bottom is larger — enough room for one or two children too.

More Intimate Than a Crowd Tub

Compared to our 4–6 person Round Classic, built for larger groups, the Flat Bottom keeps things closer and more personal — ideal for quiet family time rather than hosting a crowd.

Steps? Usually Not Needed

Most customers don't need stairs. Watch the video below to see how easy it is to get in without them — and how it looks with steps, if you'd prefer them

Frequently asked questions

How many people fit in a flat bottom tub?

Comfortably 3–4 — for example, two adults and one or two children.

Is it safe for young children?

The lower water level makes it easier to supervise children closely, but as with any tub, adult supervision is required at all times.

Do I need steps to get in?

Most people don't. Steps are available as an optional accessory for anyone who finds it uncomfortable to lift a leg over the rim.

Will it fit through my side gate?

Its low height gives it a much better chance than a standard tub, but always measure your narrowest access point before ordering.

How much water do I need to fill the tub?

Approximately 890 litres.
